All nominees for the Veterinary Nurse of the Year Award must work in the Republic of Ireland and be registered with the Veterinary Council of Ireland.
The Student Veterinary Nurse award must be for a current student enrolled in a Veterinary Nursing Programme in one of the 5 VCI accredited courses in the Republic of Ireland.
In the past the nomiations which have been chosen are those which go into detail about the nominee and how they have stood out as a worthy recipient.

All nominations will be submitted to the IVNA board members anonymously through the PR officer. The board will make a judgement and shortlist the nominations which will then be issued to a panel of judges made from the sponsoring company.
All nominations are judged anonymously and the winner will only be revealed at the Annual IVNA Congress gala dinner.
